Founded to Seek the Gap

Monetex is a Bulgarian technology and financial innovation company, founded in mid-2025. We identify underserved needs in existing markets and public systems, then introduce globally established technologies that remain underutilised in the regional context.

Background

A national-scale operation at the founding

Ahead of Bulgaria's Eurozone entry, Monetex identified a structural gap with no state-led solution: the withdrawal of approximately 850 million BGN in coin currency from circulation. We developed the commercial framework and coordinated the full operational chain, connecting retail networks, private security companies, transport logistics, banking institutions, and government bodies within a single structured process.

Преди влизането на България в еврозоната, Монетекс идентифицира структурна възможност: изтеглянето на около 850 млн. лева монетна валута наложи бързо решение. Разработихме търговската рамка и координирахме оперативната верига: търговски вериги, охранителни фирми, транспортна логистика, банкови институции и държавни органи в единен структуриран процес.

The result

The operation was executed in partnership with the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), the European Central Bank, and certified security and transport partners. Monetex coordinated the processing of close to 5% of the total value of coin currency then in circulation.

Identifying a structural gap

Bulgaria's Eurozone transition created an unaddressed challenge: ~850M BGN in coin currency required controlled withdrawal. The existing mechanisms were not built for this. Monetex stepped in to bridge the operational gap.

Simultaneous coordination across retail chains, private security companies, transport providers, banking institutions, and central government bodies within a defined regulatory framework.

Foundation for what follows

That operation established our institutional network, B2B methodology, and approach to entering markets where a viable solution has not yet been introduced.
